94 points Christy Canterbury, MW (TimAtkin.com): "The Cistercians planted white grape vines here as far back as the 13th century, and curiously, they planted Pinot Noir all around it. As usual, it seems they knew what they were doing as this wine is always a delight. It's unusually deeply colored – almost golden, especially for a Beaune, yet it is vibrantly elegant with tingly acidity and delicate aromas. Tasting of Granny Smith apple and star fruit with a dollop of fresh cream, this turns lightly salty on the solid finish. 2022-27. (2022)"

94 points Charles Curtis, MW (Decanter): "At mid-slope underneath the Montagne Saint-Désiré near the southern extremity of the appellation, Bouchard has almost two hectares on this relatively flat site with marly soil that ripens fruit well. There is a nice balance between the apricot and citrus tendencies on the nose, which is less marked by the wood, yet still reveals spice, hazelnut, and brioche notes. The texture is dense without being in any way heavy. Drinking Window: 2023-2040. (Nov 2021)"

91-93 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "Fine fresh pale lemon. The bouquet has a delicacy yet with intensity that is very classy. This site really does work well in white. There is nothing like the weight of a Clos des Mouches but there is a striking elegance with an underlying tensile strength. Pure ripe lemon notes to finish. (Nov 2021)"

Bill Nanson (Burgundy Report): "(‘A 2 hectare Clos – yellow marne here, practically the only place in Beaune. Even in the 13th century, it is written that here in Beaune was planted chardonnay – it has always been planted to white as far as anyone knows.’) A more vertical nose, super depth and attractive high tones. Broader, more mouth-filling flavour – riper fruit, almost a hint exotic though coupled with fresh energy too. Lots of fun this wine but with just enough seriousness in the finish! (Dec 2021)"
