93 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "There are not going to be large quantities of the Domaine Bize Fournaux in 2016, but the wine is going to be excellent and will be worth a special search to locate. The bouquet is pure, young and classic in profile, offering up scents of red and black currants, pigeon, a fine base of dark soil tones, woodsmoke, espresso and lovely touch of Savigny spices in the upper register. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, complex and potentially very elegant in profile, with a lovey core, ripe, well-integrated tannins and a long, focused and very promising finish. 2025-2065. (Nov/Dec 2017)"

91-93 points Neal Martin (Wine Advocate): "The 2016 Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Aux Fournaux was protected by cloud cover from the frost unlike the upper reaches of vineyard. It has an engaging, very pure and slightly floral bouquet with red cherries, bilberry and briary scents, a cold stone aroma tucked underneath. The palate is very harmonious with very fine tannin, the whole bunch lending a slight earthiness toward the finish that lingers. This is such an impressive wine in the context of the growing season. Drink: 2020-2035. (Dec 2017)"
