95+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The Bessin family’s 2018 Valmur is truly a stunning young bottle of Chablis, as it was picked first and shows off perfect volume on both the nose and palate as a result. The bouquet wafts from the glass in a very classy blend of apple, pear, lemon, kaleidoscopic, chalky minerality, citrus blossoms and a topnote of beeswax. On the palate the wine is deep, pure, full-bodied and utterly refined in profile, with a rock solid core, lovely elegance and grip and a long, complex and utterly seamless finish. This is a brilliant bottle of young Valmur! 2025-2075. (Nov/Dec 2019)"

95 points Tim Atkin, MW (Decanter): "The domaine's holdings extend over 2ha and are located next to Les Clos, with a west and north-west orientation. Combining vines of different ages and a mixture of stainless steel and oaked components, this is a wine that will reward patience. Vanilla spice, white flowers and subtle iodine notes combine beautifully on the palate here with salinity providing freshness on the finish. Drinking Window: 2021-2028. (Jul 2019)"

94 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2018 Chablis Valmur Grand Cru is lucid silver in hue. The bouquet is not as immediate as Bessin’s other 2018, taking its time to unfold, revealing citrus peel, oyster shell and dew-speckled green apple aromas that are beautifully defined. The palate is succinctly balanced, effortlessly carrying the weight of this Valmur. Wonderful intensity on the finish, yet linear and steely. You might deduce this to come from a much cooler growing season than it does. Top class - a Chablis that totally transcends the vintage. Drink: 2022-2040. (Sep 2020)"

94 points Jasper Morris, MW: " Clear pale colour, fresh and lively though the detail is not there yet. This starts discreetly, building the fruit to the back and then the barrel starts to add its voice. There is power and freshness too, certainly great length. To keep for a decade! (Jul 2020)"

91-93 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "( from a 2 ha parcel of very old vines - Bessin is not exactly sure how old they are but he claims they are the Domaine's oldest vines; 20% of the blend was vinified in oak). Once again there is just enough wood influence to warrant mentioning framing the green fruit, mineral reduction and seaweed aromas that display an impressive cornucopia of citrus elements. There is excellent energy and drive to the impressively scaled flavors that also retain fine focus on the more complex, powerful and sneaky long finish that is very dry but largely avoids austerity. Lovely stuff. Drink: 2026+. (Oct 2019)"
