94 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2018 Chablis Fourchaume La Pièce au Comte 1er Cru has a beautiful nose of white peach, pressed white flowers, hints of nectarine and yellow plum, subtle but supremely focused. The palate is very well balanced with a fine bead of acidity. A touch of ginger lingers in the background. Very harmonious, delivering just the right amount of salinity toward the finish. Superb. Drink: 2022-2036. (Sep 2020)"
93 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2018 La Piéce au Comte from Messieurs Bessin is a fine bottle for down the road, with a lovely structural chassis to carry it nicely into the future, but it will want a bit of bottle age before it really starts to blossom. The bouquet is pure and nicely primary in its composition of pear, orange, a complex base of minerality, lime blossoms and youthful topnote of citrus peel. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very long, with these old vines giving the wine impressive backend mineral drive, good cut and grip and a very well balanced finish. This is ripe, but mineral and structured and is very impressive juice. 2026-2055. (Nov/Dec 2019)"
92 points Jasper Morris, MW: "From 60 and 70 year old vines. Palish colour with a light green tint. The nose starts discreetly, but it begins to come out of the block very nicely. Wines are rarely flamboyant in this cellar although they can certainly be intense. This is very precise, subtly nuanced, with, some ripe fruit, some Chablis backbone. Overall an impeccable Chablis with fine length and precision. (Jul 2020)"
