93-95 points Neal Martin (Wine Advocate): "The 2012 Gevrey-Chambertin les Corbeaux Vielles Vignes also sees around 30% new oak like the village cru. It has a feminine, astonishingly pure, supremely well- delineated bouquet that is bewitching: blackberry, fresh strawberry, cold limestone and a touch of iris. The palate displays brilliant balance and a wondrous sense of tension and vigour – a wine that shimmers in the glass with palpable energy on the finish. This Corbeaux is just exquisite and exudes effortless charm. Drink: 2017-2035. (Jun 2015)"

94 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The old vine les Corbeaux was the most reserved 2012 in the cellars this year, but its abundant promise was very easy to appreciate. The pure and very classic nose offers up scents of black cherries, sweet dark berries, espresso, blossoming notes of grilled meat, black minerality, woodsmoke and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and shows off gorgeous mid-palate depth of (again) very sappy fruit, with fine-grained tannins, great focus and grip and a very, very long, primary and oh, so promising finish. This wine was raised in thirty percent new oak in 2012, but the perception is that it has absolutely eaten up its new wood component already in its near bottomless depth of fruit, and if Monsieur Bachelet had told me that he had decided to use all “one wine” barrels for the Corbeaux this year, I would not have been surprised. This is a very special vintage of this always super wine. 2022-2050. (Nov/Dec 2013)"

91-93 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The 2012 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Corbeaux shows the clear influence of this cold micro-climate in its firm tannins and overall structure. Incense, orange peel and white pepper all add an exotic flair to a wine built on a core of intense blue/blackish fruit. The 2012 is wonderfully pointed and nuanced throughout. A few years in bottle will help, but the wine's personality is likely to remain a bit on the wilder side of things. Drink: 2019-2032. (Jan 2014)"

90-93 points/'Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(also from 60 to 70 year old vines). Here too there is enough wood to be easily visible yet not so much as to overwhelm the intensely sauvage aromas of dark berries, underbrush and leather. There is good freshness and intensity to the ripe, velvety and mouth coating medium-bodied flavors that terminate in a dusty and ever-so-slightly rustic finish that delivers excellent persistence on the balanced finish. I very much like the complexity and this is very Corbeaux in character. Drink: 2020+. (Jan 2014)"
