97 points Tim Atkin, MW (Decanter): "Cyprien Arlaud's 0.17ha holding lies within the historic heart of the Clos St Denis and shows the freshness and perfume that are typical of this wonderful Grand Cru. Aged in older wood with 30% whole bunch fermentation, it's sweet, palate-caressing stuff with stylish ok and a racy, palate-cleansing finish that reflects the vineyard's position on the slope. Drinking Window: 2026-2036. (Oct 2019)"

95-97 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2018 Clos Saint-Denis Grand Cru is made with 30% whole-bunch fruit and no new oak. This sports the best bouquet from Arlaud this year, featuring brilliantly detailed black fruit laced with crushed stone and faint incense aromas and conveying composure and refinement. The palate is beautifully balanced with filigreed tannins, perfectly pitched acidity, a sense of cohesion from start to finish and an irresistible sense of energy on the finish. One of the best examples from this Grand Cru. Drink: 2025-2050. (Jan 2020)"

93-97 points Jasper Morris, MW: "A rich full imperial purple. The nose shows a touch of reduction. This is altogether denser than the Clos de la Roche I think. Very sumptuous but not unbalanced, this is an absolute treat. Little chocolate notes at the back go very well here because the balance of the wine has been managed very well. (Nov 2019)"
