95 points Tim Atkin, MW: "Made 'like a flan', according to Ale Vigil, this is a co-fermented blend of Cabernet Franc and 8% Malbec, with lots of whole bunches and aged in old wooden foudres. Zesty and fresh, with the low alcohol and focus that are a feature of the El Enemigo style, it’s savoury and bright with salty minerality and graphite and green herb flavours. 2022-27 (2020)"

93 points Luis Gutiérrez (Wine Advocate): "[$25 list] The expressive and elegant 2017 El Enemigo Cabernet Franc has some 8% Malbec in the blend. It's a subtle red with nuance and detail, very harmonious, aromatic, even floral within the spicy character of the variety. The palate is medium-bodied, the tannins are very fine and there's moderate alcohol and very good freshness and harmony. This matured in oak foudres for some 15 months. Drink: 2019-2025. (Oct 2019)"

93 points James Suckling: "This is such a delicious cabernet franc with blackberry and floral notes on the nose and palate, which draw you in and invite you to drink. Medium body. Round, creamy tannins and a delicious finish. The use of whole berries really makes this. Drink or hold. (11/17/20)"

92 points Joaquín Hidalgo (Vinous): "[$25 list] Harvested in stages in Gualtallary over a five-week period, this Cabernet Franc with 8% Malbec, aged in foudres, is a grand statement about the virtues of the variety. Sweet and sour cherries dominate a nose that reveals light hints of pyrazine, but are then overtaken in the glass by black currant. An open wine with a juicy palate, firm structure and polished tannins, presenting an engaging character and a long, fruity finish. Drink: 2020-2032. (Oct 2020)"

92 points Alejandro Iglesias (Decanter): "In 2017 Alejandro Vigil's flagship Cabernet Franc required five different harvest times and 15 months in an old foudre to lend it greater complexity and a more fragrant personality with fresh black cherries, menthol and subtle spicy oak notes. The Gualtallary soil gives the flavoursome palate a balanced, chalky texture. Drinking Window: 2020-2025. (May 2020)"
